My Story
I was first introduced to meditation at 8 years old, when an alternative health practitioner I worked with led me through guided meditations to assist me in healing from severe Asthma. When I witnessed my body become fully recovered with the help of these guided visualizations I realized at a very young age that we hold an immense power in our minds to impact our physical reality.
Yoga was also introduced to me at a very young age, as my mom brought me to my first class when I was 12 years old. As a rebellious teenager I actually left the class early, declaring that yoga wasn't my thing. But what I didn't admit out loud was that I also felt the best I had ever felt after completing even just half of that class.
That very first experience encapsulates what I consider to be one of the most powerful aspects of yoga. Yoga creates a safe space for us to soften our attachment to our identity and who we think we should be so that we can connect more deeply to the truth of who we really are.
My Education
I had no idea when I first started to practice yoga that it would become such a foundational practice in my life, but I am immensely grateful for the teachers that facilitated a space for me to fall in love with the practice.
In 2014 my teacher, Rusty Wells, inspired me to get certified as a yoga teacher. I have now completed a total of 400 hours of teacher training after continuing my alignment education in Oregon with Stephanie Adams, traveling to Mexico to study Power Vinyasa with Sean and Karen Conley and then getting certified to teach Yoga Nidra with Dr. Marc Halpern. I believe that teachers should always remain students, so I make sure to continue my education with different workshops and trainings that add new tools to my teaching belt each year.
